The bi-monthly Kinship Care Network is hosted by The Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare in partnership with Kinship Care Victoria.
Our statewide members represent twenty-eight funded service provides, bringing together place-based knowledge and practice wisdom to build capacity and alignment across the kinship care sector.
The Network offers frontline workforces opportunities to be a part of the necessary change early and in a timely way, to:
collaborate with each other and government,
inform implementation and advocate on key reforms and policy, and
engage with current research, practice and policy.

Kinship Care Week is a reminder of the commitment and profound impact kinship carers have on the children they nurture. Their contributions often go unrecognised, yet they provide the essential foundation that helps children thrive, offering a sense of continuity, family connection, and belonging that might otherwise be lost.

When we celebrate Kinship Care Week together, we ensure kinship carers receive the recognition and support they deserve.
It has been a momentous year for kinship care, with unprecedented attention from decision-makers, as the Government responded to the Victorian Auditor-General’s Office Report 2022.
But many kinship families still feel the need to profile, promote, prioritise , so raising awareness of their important role and challenges they face is crucial to building understanding and getting them the support, they so desperately need.
