Update – The Winning Designer of the 2024 ResiROCKS Hoodie

We are thrilled to have chosen the winner of the 2024 ResiROCKS Hoodie Design Competition, a celebration of creativity and the transformative power of education within Victoria’s Residential Care community.

The Winning Design

After receiving many incredible entries, some featuring epic cats, we’ve decided on a design that truly captured our hearts.

Our winning designer is Summer, 16. She says she worked with her carers to create the design, which represents their Polynesian background and the importance of love, respect, equality, and strength in nurturing the spark for education in residential care.

Here’s what the judges had to say:

Summer’s intricate, thoughtful, hand-drawn pen design really jumped out to us. We love the cultural connection and the ode to her carers’ Polynesian heritage. The design beautifully fits the theme, highlighting the profound impact of community on personal and collective growth. We appreciate her approach to framing the design with four powerful words: love, respect, equality, and strength.

Summer’s wining design will be revealed at ResiROCKS on October 10.

While all the designs we had the pleasure of reviewing reminded us of the talent within Victoria’s Residential Care community, the Summer’s design beautifully embodies this year’s theme, Nurturing the Spark for Education, highlighting the profound impact of community on personal and collective growth.

About the Competition

The ResiROCKS Design + Win Hoodie Competition invited young people currently residing in Residential Care or supported by a Residential Care agency in Victoria to showcase their artistic talents. Entrants were challenged to illustrate the transformative power of education through their designs.

We received numerous amazing entries, each showcasing diverse perspectives and stories. However, the winning design stood out for its heartfelt representation and artistic excellence.

Let’s celebrate!

As we work to whip up our new 2024 hoodies, we’re keeping the winner under wraps!

Be sure to join us in celebration at the ResiROCKS event on Thursday, 10 October 2024, where we will distribute our incredible new hoodies.

A BIG thank you

We want to say a massive THANK YOU to all who were involved!

Thank you to the carers who encouraged their kids to get creative and celebrate personal growth, and thank you to the artists who shared their talents and stories with us.

Your participation is a testament to the creativity and collaboration that thrive within our residential homes.
