OPEN is thrilled to announce that we are now accepting expressions of interest for the OPEN Symposium 2024! The online Symposium will be held on 23rd and 24th October 2024.
Victoria’s child and family sector continues to push boundaries and inspire, working tirelessly to support our most vulnerable community members. We’re excited to showcase promising practices, innovative programs, and cutting-edge research during our online Symposium in the last week of October.
This year’s theme for the OPEN Symposium 2024 is Transforming futures: Improving the lives of children and their families.
We invite dynamic presentations from speakers who can share innovative work and insights across children and family services, research, and policy—particularly those that promote dialogue and collaboration between the sector, research, and policy. Presentations should address one or more of the following areas:
- Embracing diversity: Embedding cultural diversity and intersectionality successfully in practice
- Beyond home:Â Delivering successful transitions for children and young people from out-of-home care
- Stronger together: Collaborating successfully across sectors to improve the mental health of children, young people and their families
- Changing life trajectories: Supporting successful diversion of children and young people from the justice system
- Early help for families: Delivering effective parenting and early intervention programs to make a difference in the lives of families
- Keeping children safe online: Providing proven and promising programs to keep children and young people safe in online environments
- Innovative technology use: Using technology in innovative ways to deliver better services for clients
- Meaningful listening: Demonstrating effective incorporation of the voices of children and young people in service system design
