Effective Leadership Skills

Course Overview
Designed for staff who have leadership responsibilities of teams in the Community Services sector, or who wish to
build their leadership capability, this workshop aims to provide participants with the skills and tools to lead
effectively and successfully. Additionally, it will build insights and understandings of the elements of effective
leadership to develop leadership competence and increase confidence in successfully leading teams.
Program Topics
- Managing self-care/self-awareness to be an effective leader.
- Models of leadership.
- Managing Teams (including difficult behaviours/conversations).
- Leadership through a trauma informed and cultural lens.
Learning Outcomes
- Recognise the impact a good leader plays in supporting teams in the Community Services sector.
- Understand key skills in becoming an effective leader.
- Increase confidence in leadership capability.
- Identify and implement successful leadership strategies
