Victorian Research Study on Young People Transitioning from out-of-home-care (OOHC)
Surveys for Carers and Caseworkers now online.
New surveys for OOHC caseworkers and carers in Victoria are now live.
The surveys seek input from carers and professionals servicing the current needs of young people transitioning from out-of-home care in Victoria.
To take part, go to the carers survey or the caseworkers survey on the Australian Institute of Family Studies (AIFS) website.
The surveys are part of a five-year longitudinal research study of young people transitioning from care in Victoria called Beyond 18: The Longitudinal Study on Leaving Care.
The study focuses on the lives and experiences of young people transitioning from out-of-home care. It will provide insights into ‘what works’ throughout the transition from out-of-home care, and by suggesting ways of enhancing out-of-home care and improving the transition and post-transition phases.
The study will be the first of its nature ever conducted in Victoria. It is being undertaken by AIFS, which is a highly experienced research organisation with a history of respecting sensitivities and privacy.
