Mental Health Royal Commission Consultations

The Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System is now underway!

This is an important opportunity to help bring about positive change for children and families experiencing mental ill-health and for the child and family services sector to have our voices and ideas heard.

The Centre is holding consultations with our members to identify key issues and barriers and to develop positive solutions and recommendations that will improve outcomes for infants, children, young people and families in need of mental health support. These consultations will inform the Centre’s submission to the Royal Commission.

You can find the terms of reference here and more information about the Royal Commission here. Submissions to the Commission are due on Friday 5th July 2019.

We invite you to attend one of the following consultation sessions to share your views:

Out-of-home care session
Date: Wednesday 15th May 2019
Time: 10:00am-11:30am

Who should attend: Anyone primarily supporting children and families involved in foster, kinship or residential care, or post care.

Child and family support session
Date: Wednesday 15th May 2019
Time: 1:00pm-2:30pm

Who should attend: Anyone primarily providing support services for vulnerable children and their families.

Both sessions will be held at:
Level 5, 50 Market Street
Melbourne

For those involved in the Centre networks, smaller discussions can be arranged before or after network meeting times if that is preferable.
