Improving Educational Outcomes for Young People in Residential Care (RCLDS)

Residential carers play a vital role in supporting young people to successfully engage in education. This free training delivered by Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare, and the Department of Education (LOOKOUT) is designed to support residential workers to know how to advocate for young people, and navigate the school system in an effort to achieve better educational outcomes for young people in care.
Learning outcomes include:
- The role of LOOKOUT
- What you as a residential carer can do to support a young person
- The role of the school and key people within the school community
