As the leader and peak body in child and family services in Tasmania and Victoria, The Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare proudly represents over 150 organisations, spanning community service organisations from proactive prevention and early intervention to the critical provision of out-of-home care.
The Centre is the voice of organisations and individuals dedicated to advancing child and family wellbeing, we set the standards for practice and professional development in child and family services.
We are a powerful voice
We advocate on behalf of our members on the frontline of child and family services, representing member organisations at all levels of government. The Centre’s strong and established relationships with State and Federal Governments, Departments, Agencies, and Ministers provide us with a unique leverage to drive meaningful change for our sector.
We collaborate with our members
Centre members can access innovative research, resources, networks, specialised training, and funding opportunities to enhance capabilities, bolster existing initiatives, and strengthen relationships across our sector. We facilitate monthly network forums in areas such as out-of-home care, foster care, kinship care, and leaving care.
We build sector capacity
We provide high-quality accredited and non-accredited training programs designed specifically for professionals within the child and family services sector, and customised training services tailored to workplaces. We offer substantial discounts for members.

The Centre’s membership team will be in touch to discuss all Organisational and Subscriber applications, review your eligibility, and collect further information.
Organisational applications are approved by the Centre’s Board. All other membership types are approved by the Centre’s CEO.
Once your membership is approved, you’ll receive a welcome pack, including instructions on accessing the Centre’s resources and events your member benefits.
Active participation in the Centre’s events, training, and networking opportunities.
Regular feedback collection through surveys to improve member services and benefits.
Student membership is open only to individuals enrolled to study at an Australian tertiary/post-secondary institution, and upon application and approval by Board.
Associate membership is available to interested individuals committed to child, youth and family welfare services, and upon application and approval by Board.
Organisational membership is available to organisations engaged in activities consistent with Centre objectives and upon application and approval by Board.
Subscriber membership is available to organisations which are ineligible to become organisational members, and upon application and approval by Board.
