As the peak body for organisations working with children and families across Victoria and Tasmania, the Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare offers a range of training and professional development programs to strengthen the capacity of organisations to provide services that best suit the needs of vulnerable families and children.
In addition to the core training offerings listed below, The Centre can provide customised training solutions to meet your organisation’s specific training needs. We offer in-house training via a variety of delivery modes in suitable locations across Victoria and Tasmania, in our training facilities in Melbourne’s CBD or virtually online. Best Interest Case Practice Model Foundation Training

Designed to guide and bolster professional practice within family services, child protection, and placement and support services, the BICPM is dedicated to securing successful outcomes for children and their families

Child Safe Standards

This training informs participants about the requirements for implementing the 11 Child Safe Standards and helps them acquire the skills needed to ensure the safety and well-being of diverse children and families. It is designed to aid the creation of safer environments for children and young people.

Designed for staff supervising teams in the Community Services sector, this workshop provides the tools for constructive supervision sessions, focusing on evidence informed practices within a non-clinical supervision model

Managing and Maintaining Professional Boundaries

Understanding professional boundaries is important in working with children, young people, and families as well as the impact they have in working with other professionals. This workshop will help you to identify the types of professional boundaries and develop strategies to embed safe and healthy boundary settings.

Customised Training Workshops

The Centre provides a range of professional learning and development workshops to meet the needs of organisations. We deliver training upon request in locations across Victoria and Tasmania or remotely via Zoom. For regional areas this is an economical way to ensure that staff can meet their professional development requirements by having the training in-house. All training sessions can accommodate up to 30 participants per session.
All the training we offer can be customised using your own organisation’s policies, standards and documentation. We also work with organisations to develop or tailor training, based on your specific requirements. These can be booked for a time that suits your organisation or staff group.
